Today, my first day of English class during semester 2. I have confident in getting a good result on all the subjects that I taken in semester except English.
English, this language for me is a tough problem. I have problem in communicate with people by speaking English during secondary school. This is because I study in a Private Chinese Primary school then I don’t used to be talking to anyone else by English that time, even though in my last year of secondary school, I still unable to communicate in English.
After I have further my study in University, then I start to speak English with some of my friends because some of them don’t understand mandarin(My language in communicate with most of my friend). It’s lucky that they able to understand what I’m talking. But sometime when I’m talking to my Indian friends, I can’t hear them clearly, but I still able to understand what are they talking about.
In this new English class, my lecturer is fun. She always making fun during class, even in the first day. I have a good memory in this lecturer because I don’t feel bored during lecture.
I remembered just now she gave us a piece of paper to filled in all the information and profile of us, and there is a question about our speaking & writing in English. There are 5 options in the question, they are excellent, good, average, weak, poor. I had chosen ‘weak’ in speaking & writing among the 5 options. I felt that my English in speaking & writing are very very weak. That’s why I worried about my English class now.
My lecturer was given us a list of website about news, research and information. She advise us to read newspaper or online news to know more about general knowledge such as current issues. I found that very useful in improving my English and I hope that is works for me.
At last, neither I hope, nor wish. I must archive a good result in English subject, other subjects and also my further studies!
